Join us for a conversation and Q & A with Fatinha Ramos, award-winning Portuguese illustrator and current short-term resident at City of Asylum.
Fatinha Ramos is an award-winning Portuguese illustrator and creator based in Antwerp. Through a residency exchange with Passa Porta, a Belgian literary organization, City of Asylum has welcomed Fatinha for a month-long stay to create art.
In an intimate presentation in our bookstore, Fatinha will discuss the globally-focused, social justice themes of her work and her installation of 28 murals on the construction site of Antwerp’s town hall. A Q&A will follow.
Fatinha Ramos is an Antwerp-based illustrator and visual artist originally from Portugal. Her work has appeared all over the world and received awards from the Society of Illustrators NY, 3×3 (Magazine of Contemporary Illustration), Communication Arts, Global Illustration Award, World Illustrations Awards, White Ravens and many more. Fatinha has worked her magic on children’s books, covers, posters, editorials, advertising, fashion, animation and diverse personal projects, including a book on Sonia Delaunay for the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
