Join us for a evening with award-winning jazz pianist Cat Toren.
Cat Toren’s HUMAN KIND is the latest project by Vancouver-born New York-based, JUNO award-winning pianist Cat Toren. The music is inspired by both the free form jazz of the 1960’s and a personal expression of the resurgent civil rights movement that is upon us. Jazz, being music of expression and of the people, has a legacy of standing up for these issues. HUMAN KIND channels the likes of Alice Coltrane and her contemporaries, blending the past with the current both musically and politically.
Cat Toren – piano/compositions
Xavier Del Castillo – saxophone
Jake Leckie – bass
Matt Honor – drums
