The Hot Club Jazz listening sessions share jazz on 78rpm records – the oldest and rarest records that capture truly high quality sound and make the beauty of class jazz recordings available to all.

It’s like a book club for jazz heads.
Taught by jazz historian, pianist, and 78-collector Tom Roberts and held on zoom

May 9th is Mother’s Day… but May 6th is “Fatha’s Day!”
Our May Hot Club installment is all about Earl “Fatha” Hines. Earl, a graduate of Schenley High School, grew up in Duquesne PA and revolutionized jazz piano. In fact, as Dizzy Gillespie describes: “In Earl you can find the roots of Bud Powell, Herbie Hancock, and all the guys who came after that. If it hadn’t been for Earl Hines blazing the path for the next generation, there’s no telling where or how they would be playing now.”
