Sharing Women's Stories: An Afternoon with PPWP, PAAR & StampedSaturday, April 22, 2017 @ 3 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Action Against Rape, and Stamped have partnered to bring you an afternoon of honoring women’s voices. Local community writers and artists will be sharing stories and addressing contemporary women’s issues. PPWP, PAAR and Stamped will be discussing vital information centered around the growing dialogue of women’s bodies. There will be time for community discussion at the end of the event.
Corrine Jasmin is an Afro-Haitian artist and writer based in Pittsburgh, PA. Corrine is both a filmmaker and photographer working toward blending art and activism. She has been creating since her early youth and has aspirations to make an impact in the world by sharing work that is relatable, being that it is a direct reflection of herself as well as the world around her. Corrine’s work often includes, but is not limited to fashion, femininity and tenderness, youth culture, and African-American culture.
Emma Vescio is an artist and poet from Pittsburgh, PA. Currently, she is a pursuing her BFA in English Writing and Art History at University of Pittsburgh. Emma enjoys experimenting with photography, mixed media, and acrylic based work. With her writing, she focuses on contemporary poetry and prose. Emma is influenced by concepts of time, botany, and her personal experiences with everyday life.
