Storytelling with Karen WilliamsSaturday, May 5, 2018 @ 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Celebrate Children’s Book Week with a family-friendly afternoon of storytelling and crafting with author Karen Williams.
Karen Williams will share writing experiences and toy galimotos that originated from her experiences in Malawi. In her picture book, Galimoto, a boy named Kondi goes on a quest for pieces of wire to shape his very own toy truck, car or bicycle. After Karen’s reading of Galimoto, kids will be invited to create their own toys out of recycled materials.
Copies of Karen William’s books will be available for purchase and signing.
Karen Williams was born in Connecticut, and received her Master’s degree in deaf education. She has lived in Africa and in Haiti. Karen had an early dream to be one of the youngest published authors, starting a writing club at ten. However, Karen’s published works came later in life, after extensive travels and family experience. Karen’s ability to draw from personal experience and adapt into writing forms for all ages and interests expresses her true gift.
