Storytelling with Moma Tale-Spin

Join us for a family-friendly storytelling event with “Moma Tale-Spin” Regina-Yasmeen Brown in celebration of Wangari Maathai.
Regina-Yasmeen Brown is Moma Tale-Spin, a native of Pittsburgh, who hails from the city’s historic Hill District. She is a local storyteller, an avid organic gardener, a killer cook and baker, a grass-roots community activist and a member of the organizing committee of Sembène – The Film & Arts Festival.
Her interests in the lives and well being of her community spans more than 30 years and she has donated countless hours to various community organizations. She is particularly interested in working with children and senior citizens.
Ms. Brown holds a degree in Dietetics. In addition to working with Sembène, she has worked as a Nutrition Educator with Penn State Extension Allegheny County and as coordinator with the Ujamaa Agricultural Incubator at the Dewayne Cooper Gardens.
In Celebration of Earth Week, Moma Tale-Spin will share stories about Nobel Prize Winner and Environmentalist Wangari Maathai.
This family friendly event includes free giveaways and a book raffle for kids.
