Suzanne Rivecca is the author of “Death is Not an Option: Stories” (WW Norton 2010), which won the Rome Prize in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and was a finalist for The Story Prize, the PEN/Hemingway Award, the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award, and the New York Public Library Young Lions Award. A former Stegner fellow at Stanford and Bunting fellow at Radcliffe, she is the recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Creative Work Fund. Her stories have won two Pushcart Prizes and have been anthologized in Best American Short Stories. Currently, she is working on a new fiction project that draws heavily from her decade of experience working with people experiencing homelessness and poverty in San Francisco. Most recently, she is the recipient of the 2016 Gina Berriault Award for Fiction.
